Vision Statement
Cultivating the heart of the community for a vibrant downtown where businesses work together in support of each other and the community.
The LDBA have been involved in – or have initiated – several local initiatives, which have helped our members and the business community in general.
Signage Improvements
The LDBA have been working with the Town of Ladysmith to develop new signage to help drive foot and vehicle traffic to town from the highway. Those signs are currently being developed but you can see the Free Parking signs up now in various places around town.
10% Shift
Instead of having a busy big-box store down the street and empty store-fronts lining your downtown, keep local businesses “in business” by trying Ladysmith first. We support “shifting” 10% of your spending to local.

Old Time Christmas
On the first Friday of every December, we have helped to organize the very popular Old Time Christmas event, which has horse and carriage rides, late night opening, candle making, chestnut roasting, and other fun events.
Late Night Shopping in December
After Light Up and after the Old Time Christmas to December 25th, we have encouraged many stores to stay open later on Fridays to help serve the community who struggle to get back in to town from out-of-town work.
Grand Xmas Draw
In conjunction with the Ladysmith & District Credit Union, we welcome shoppers to the annual Ladysmith Grand Christmas event, held from November to December.
Professional Seminars
From time to time, our members provide valuable seminars to the community on such topics as design and branding, marketing, accounting, business improvement and planning, and other great subjects.
